AUDIT ANATOMY

What's inside the document.

This is a cropped page from a sample audit. Each part has a job.

SAMPLE, ILLUSTRATIVE DATA, NOT A CLIENT

SEO audit: Example Heating & Air

Illustrative

Summary

Three things to do first: give each service page its own title, fix the mobile load time on the home page and correct the primary category on the Business Profile.

Summary: the three things to do first

Findings

  • Found: 14 service pages share the same title tag.

Why it matters: Google can't tell the pages apart, so it picks one for all of them.

Fix: write a unique title for each page.

  • Found: the home page loads a 2.4 MB image on mobile.

Why it matters: slow pages lose visitors before they read a word.

Fix: compress and size the image; expected weight under 200 KB.

  • Found: the Business Profile's primary category is "Contractor".

Why it matters: Google uses the primary category to decide which searches to show you for.

Fix: change it to "HVAC contractor".

Findings: what we found, why it matters, the fix

FIT

You have opinions and vendor pitches. You need a diagnosis.

  • You're about to hire an SEO and want to know what needs doing first.
  • You're comparing agencies and need something neutral to compare against.
  • You have a site that someone built and no idea whether Google can read it.
  • Your traffic or calls dropped and nobody has explained why.

You'll recognise this if…

Every pitch recommends a different thing.

Without a baseline you can't tell which one is right.

You've been told "your SEO is fine".

By the person who sells SEO. A second opinion costs less than a wrong year.

A redesign is coming.

It's cheaper to find what to protect before the rebuild than after.

DELIVERY

From your address to your audit.

  1. Day 0: you order and send your site address

We confirm scope the same business day and ask for read access to Search Console and Analytics, if you have them.

  2. Days 1 to 3: we crawl and review

Technical, content and local checks, plus the competitor review.

  3. Days 4 to 5 (Essentials): we write it up

Standard takes until day 10 and Comprehensive until day 15, because the roadmap and the larger crawl need the time.

FAQ

SEO audit questions

Do I have to hire you afterwards?

No. The audit is written to be used by anyone. Many people give it to their developer or another agency.

What do you need from me?

Your site address, read access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics if you have them, and the names of up to three competitors if you have them in mind.

What's the difference between the free audit and the paid one?

The free audit is a short written review of your home page and the biggest issues we spot. The paid audit is a full review of the whole site with a priority list, tickets and a roadmap.

How do you count URLs?

Every indexable page on your site counts, including product and category pages. We crawl the site first and confirm the count with you before work starts. If it falls into a higher tier, we tell you before charging anything more.

Will the audit show everything wrong?

It shows what matters. A crawl can list thousands of minor items. We rank them and leave out the noise.
